Lucy's Sunshine Report for May 13, 2010
1. We offer our condolences to Doug Moyers on the death of his wife, Nettie. She was a member of our NARFE chapter for many years, and was a nice lady.
2. Nancy and Jim Glenn visited with his brother in Kentucky, and are going to Vermont for a week. Nancy's son, Will, and his wife will visit with them for a few days.
3. W.C. and Nelma Chilton have been very busy planting their vegetable garden. They aren't here because they aren't feeling well.
4. Mertie is thankful that her granddaughter's family, who live on Old Hickory Lake, were spared from the recent flooding in the area.
5. Congratulations to Rawlin, Jr., who recently bought and moved into a house at 220 Forest Drive in McMinnville.
6. Sue Smartt was in Cancun, Mexico, in March at the time of our last meeting.
7. Carol Scott recently came home from a trip to Colorado.
8. Boyd Spry went to Little Rock, Arkansas, for a 50th surprise birthday party for his son. Boyd said there were about 100 people at the church, and his son was really surprised, especially to see his children and his dad.
9. Art and Elaine Larson are going to Wyoming and Oregon. They are going to attend their granddaughter's college graduation. They have been busy traveling. They were in Pigeon Forge for a week, then spent a week in Crossville at Lake Tansi. Their most recent trip was to Fort Benning, Georgia, for a Vietnam military reunion for the 2nd Battalion, 47th Infantry Regiment, who were in Vietnam in 1967 and 1968.
