Nelma's Sunshine Report for November 12, 2009
1. We're so glad that Joe and Tommye Adams are able to be here. They are feeling better.
2. Carol Scott has gone to Pittsburg, PA, to visit her daughter.
3. Harold and Peggy George have been vacationing in Gatlinburg. We're glad they are back - at least for a few days.
4. Elsie Newby keeps busy with her grandbaby. He's had his first birthday and is walking, so we know why she is so busy.
5. Barbara Scott has been in Phoenix, AZ, to visit a sick uncle. She will have a stint put in her heart next month. Remember Barbara in your prayers. She still has back problems - the acupuncture didn't help her.
6. Martha Smartt attended a Postmaster's Convention in Anchorage, AK, recently. Her daughter, Teresa, went with her. While there they took some tours which they enjoyed very much and met lots of nice people.
7. We offer our sympathy to Rawlin Jr. in the passing of his mother, Mrs. Jo Snider. She had suffered from cancer. Her funeral was last Thursday, November 5, 2009. Rawlin's address is 621B Sunburst Dr., McMinnville. I know he will appreciate cards.
8. Jim and Nancy Glenn visited their son and family members in New Hampshire recently. They also visited Martha's Vinyard while there. They plan to vist their grandchild and family in Florida soon.
9. Don and Lucy Morgan went to Myrtle Beack, SC, for their forty first anniversary. They had a very enjoyable week!
10. Mertie Clemons has been on the go lately. She was in NC recently, and enjoyed the beach with family. Then two weeks ago, she and her daughter went to the Smokies and enjoyed a variety of shows and other things. Way to go, Mertie!!
11. "Our World Travelers" - Art and Elaine Larson have been on several trips lately. As you know, they keep up with the car races and also visit family and friends in places like New York, Florida, and Alabama, which have been some of their most recent trips. They have also attended plays in Crossville and Woodbury. My Fair Lady was one of the plays they saw at Cannon County Playhouse. Last weekend they attended the races in Talladega, AL. They celebrated their forty eighth wedding anniversary on September 9th.
12. WC and Nelma Chilton attended an Air Force reunion in Springfield, TN, in September. We had a great time visiting with old friends and meeting new ones.
13. Lillian Baker had knee surgery three weeks ago and is slowly improving. I'm sure Lillian would appreciate a get well card. Her address is 5585 Beersheba Highway, McMinnville.
14. Mrs. Doug [Nettie] Moyers is about the same. I had a nice visit with her and Doug recently. She is a delightful lady!
