Nelma's Sunshine Report for July 9, 2009
1. Joe and Tommye Adams are doing better at present. Glad they're able to be here.
2. Harold and Peggy George just returned from a vacation at Myrtle Beach, SC. Harold got sick upon his return from vacation and could not be here tonigt.
3. Carol Scott is visiting her daughter in Pittsburg, PA.
4. Sue Smartt is excited about her granddaughter returning from Bulgaria where she has been with the Peace Corps for two years. She taught English to the children there.
5. Ben Davis had heart surgery in May, and had been home for a few days where he fell on May 24th and broke his hip. He had surgery in Nashville, but is in River Park Hospital rehab since May 30th. He had a set-back when he fell at the hospital and broke the stitches loose. Margaret is so tired, and ready for him to get home. She said they would appreciate our prayers! Ben is in room 101B at River Park Hospital.
6. Martha Bell had cataract surgery three weeks ago, and just went back to work this week. So glad she's doing well.
7. Barbara Scott has had her 3rd accupuncture for her back. Sure hope she will feel better soon.
8. Mertie Clemons had parathyroid surgery May 28th - she's doing ok from that. She fell last week and is sore.
9. Art Larson had more surgery recently, which went well. He's able to go again, and he and Elaine have been to Nashville to see their grand-son-in-law race in the car races. They've also been to the Playhouse in Cannon County several times lately. They are going to Cumberland County Playhouse soon to see Hair Spray. They certainly don't have time to be bored! Art still writes in the Southern Standard about car races. If you haven't read his column, you should. Elaine had a birthday July 1st. Happy Birthday!
10. W.C. is busy with his garden, as I'm sure several are. He had to replant after all the rain in the Spring where seeds were either washed away or packed down too hard to come up. We're thankful for the good rain we had the 4th and 5th - saved some on the water bill.
