Nelma's Sunshine Report for May 14, 2009
1. Arsey Womack had a good check-up at the doctor this week. Betty isn't feeling well - has a bug.
2. W.C. Chilton was in the hospital for a few days because of chest pain. He's doing fine at present. Nelma is in Manchester tonight at a grand-daughter's pre-school graduation.
3. Jim and Nancy Gleen enjoyed a vacation in Branson, MO, recently. Jim attended the NARFE TN Federation in Jackson, TN, recently. He was elected TN Federation Legislative Chairman. Congratulations, Jim!
4. Joe and Tommye Adams are doing very well at present. They're thankful to be as well as they are.
5. Ben and Margaret Davis are having some bad days. Ben has been in St. Thomas Hospital with heart problems. He's home now, but very weak. Margaret has suffered from heart valve problems lately. They would appreciate cards of encouragement.
6. Rawlin Jernigan has been sick with a virus - is on antibiotics, and is feeling better.
7. Mertie Clemons will have para-thyroid surgery soon. It is to be out patient.
8. Don and Lucy Morgan visited their sons and families in Maryland during Easter holidays.
9. Harold and Peggy George are very excited about being great-grand parents to twin boys born Tuesday, May 12. They are Kody and Kolton and are welcomed by their "big sister" Kailey. Congratulations to all!
10. Art and Elaine Larson are our "Roving Reporters" - especially for the races. Art had some minor surgery the end of March - it went well, and he wasn't laid up long. Then they were back on the road again - going to races. First to Nashville Speedway where Justin Allgairer was racing - he's special to Art and Elaine! They spent some time at Lake Tanzie in Crossville. They have been in Virginia to visit a neice and nephew and families, then on to more races, and also visited race drivers, and also met friends from New Jersey. Ask our "Roving Reporters" about the news features he did in the Richmond paper - he also writes for the Southern Standard. Elaine also enjoys all the races and people she meets.
