Nelma's Sunshine Report for January 8, 2009

1. Jim and Nancy Glenn have recently visited Nancy's family in Mississippi.

2. Joe Adams is not doing well at present. He has several health issues. Joe recently attended a Farm Bureau meeting where he received a special plaque for serving on the board for 57 years. He has been a member of 4th District Farm Bureau for 59 years. His picture and write-up were in the last Bureau News.

3. Lillian Baker is now a retired Post Master. She retired from the Walling Post Office recently. Congratulations, Lillian!

4. Elsie Newby recently (Dec. 31, 2008) retired from the McMinnville Post Office. Congratulations, Elsie!

5. Martha Bell spent New Year's Day in Cartersville, GA, at a surprise birthday party for her 50 year old son.

6. Don and Lucy Morgan had their children and grandchildren with them for Thanksgiving. They live in Kansas and Maryland.

7. Charles Bogle had heart by-pass surgery on December 4th. He's home and doing well, but isn't getting out much at present.

8. Ben and Margaret Davis aren't here tonight because their great grandson is playing ball at Boyd school, and they haven't been able to see him play before. Ben had a stint put in his heart in November, but he's having a problem with his defibulator being out of rythm.

9. Doug Moyer is doing okay. Mrs. Nettie is taking therapy with Home Health, and is doing some better at present.

10. Boyd Spry and his wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary December 2nd. She has MS and is bedfast. Boyd keeps busy with taking care of her and with the jail ministry.

11. Barbara Scott will have accupuncture on January 27th for her back pain.

12. Sue Smartt had her children and grandchildren for the holidays.

13. Cecil Prater fell Saturday before Christmas and broke his collar bone. He says he is doing better, but is black, blue and green all over his side. Cecil will be 90 years old Feburary 5th.

14. Nelma Chilton has started radiation - will have 33 treatments.

15. Arsey and Betty Womack are doing better. Arsey has to go on a walker, but is feeling better. They don't get out much at night.
